Be ready before the rains come

Landslides, floods, drought and lightning hit hardest where communities are least prepared.

We help villages plan, warn and respond. COHEAL works alongside communities to map local hazards, agree evacuation routes, pre-position supplies and run drills — so that when disaster strikes, villages are ready to act from the very first hour.

What we do

Preparedness in action

Map the risk

Communities map local hazards such as landslide slopes, flood zones and lightning hotspots.

Plan the way out

We agree evacuation routes and safe spaces with each community.

Warn early

Weather and health warnings reach villages in local languages through leaders, schools, churches and mosques, linked to district disaster management committees.

Respond fast

First aid, water-treatment and referral supplies are pre-positioned, and regular drills prepare VHTs for the first 72 hours.

Help prepare Uganda's communities

A community that is prepared survives. Your support funds hazard mapping, drill supplies and pre-positioned response kits in the communities that need it most.
