Who We Are
Community Health Living (COHEAL) is a Ugandan community-driven organization implementing integrated health, climate resilience, livelihood & economic empowerment, and systems-strengthening programs for underserved populations. COHEAL works directly with adolescents, youth, women, slum communities, people who use drugs, Persons affected by Sickle Cell disease and vulnerable households.
Through community-based delivery systems, local partnerships, and evidence-driven programming, COHEAL strengthens last-mile service delivery, community ownership and sustainable development outcomes.
COHEAL strengthens community resilience by addressing interconnected health, climate, and socio-economic challenges affecting adolescents, youth, women, slum communities, people who use drugs, children Living with Sickle cell and vulnerable households across Uganda.
Community eye health and health security are our current focus: training Village Health Teams to screen, refer and follow up, and to detect outbreaks and disasters while they are still local.
